The Ferrari 488 Pista is nominated MotorSport magazineâ??s Sports Car of the Year

The Ferrari 488 Pista continues to accumulate important international accolades with the nomination of “Sportive de l’année” by leading French car magazine, MotorSport.

In a head-to-head with 11 other international sports cars at the Magny-Cours track and surrounding roads, the 488 Pista set the magazine’s fastest lap time for a production car ever on the evocative 4.4 km ex-F1 GP circuit in just 1’44.90”, over two seconds faster than their previous record.

The magazine praised the 488 Pista for “knocking out the jury – and the competitors – thanks to its performance, lateral grip, its winning combination of engine and gearbox, and its electronic vehicle dynamics controls … On top of that, it also knows how to be very playful. The 488 Pista is a concentration of all the criteria sought by any lover of strong sensations on four wheels.”

The successor to Ferrari’s V8-engined special series – the 360 Challenge Stradale, 430 Scuderia, and 458 Speciale – which all received critical international acclaim for their performance and undiluted handling, the Ferrari 488 Pista marks a significant step forward both in terms of both sporty dynamics and for the level of technological carry-over from racing. The name (meaning ‘track’ in Italian) is, in fact, a direct homage to Ferrari’s unparalleled heritage in motorsports.
