The Start of Something Special – The Story of DCI Solution

DCI Solution 10 Year Anniversary

This month celebrates our 10th Anniversary as a company. To kick off our celebration we wanted everyone to have an inside look at how DCI Solution came to be.

Another entrepreneurial story about a company that started in a garage. Well, at least that’s where the original discussion and idea exchanges took place.

Darren DiMaria had been in the vehicle valuations business since the early 1980’s. He started and grew with a firm that would soon become the premier leader in the semi-automated total loss valuation industry, for standard autos.

It was Darren’s idea to start a company that would focus on the specialty vehicle market.

David DiMaria had recently transitioned into the insurance industry after a lengthy career in consumer products. After hearing the idea his brother had, he was eager to pursue this exciting new opportunity.

Darren had expressed concerns over the current state of this niche’ market segment. Values were not exactly accurate. It was difficult for customers to work with the current suppliers. The customer service was not particularly good.

 

The three pillars of DCI Solution became obvious. Accuracy. These were specialty vehicles and needed much more attention to detail to ensure an accurate valuation. Simplicity. Make it easy for the customer to use our service and understand our valuation. Totality. Put the customer in the center and focus on serving their needs.

We knew we needed to set ourselves apart from the rest of the players in this game. The first step was branding. We looked at Ferrari in the automobile industry. Built on precision, speed, and a focus on being a specialty product. We adopted a branding mentality closer to Ferrari rather than the industry standard. Red was our color.

We wanted everyone to know what we were about. Below our logo people could see what we provided. Specialty Valuations, Specialty Vehicles, and Special Service.

Our pillars that we had built our foundation on would show people why they should be choosing DCI Solution for their valuation needs. Accuracy. Simplicity. Totality.
