The world’s most valuable car collection is to be put up for auction at Sotheby’s flagship Monterey sale, held during the world-famous Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance Thursday, August 13. Entitled “The Pinnacle Collection” the selection of vintage European supercars and rare modern classics is currently owned by a single, anonymous owner, but is set to be sold off piece-by-piece to the highest bidder at the most important yearly gathering of collector cars and enthusiasts from around the world. Amongst the archive of automotive history is a Ferrari given to Pope John Paul II as a gift by the Italian motor company, and one of only five Le Mans-spec McLaren F1 supercars ever made. Check out the photos above and take a detailed look at the full collection here.
